About David Conner: Good day soccer fans, I am David Conner and I have been a board member since 2007. It all started for me when I began coaching my kids at GASC in the rec league in fall of 2003. Over the next 7 years I coached 38 recreational teams and also became the Recreational Director for 3 years from 2008 to 2010. In 2010 I was one of four finalist for Indiana Soccer Girls Recreational Coach of the year. During this time I also started coaching in the Strikers Academy program in 2009 on the boy’s side. I have coached both girls and boys in the Academy program over the last 10 years. Currently I am the boys Academy Head Coach. The last 8 years I coached for USF Real, which was the 11U and up travel league. I coached on both sides of the program with my last teams being the 19U boys and the 17U girl’s teams in the spring of 2019. I am currently coaching the 13U Girls Black for Indiana Impact SC. Indiana Impact SC is our 11U and above travel program that our Strikers Academy players will feed into. I have coached many players on both sides that have gone on to play college soccer. This includes Franklin College, Manchester University, Grove City College, Anderson University, Trine University, DePauw University and many more. During the last 13 years I have received many coaching licenses some of them being the National D with USSF, RMA 100, RMA 200, Futsal Level 1, Goal Keeping Level 1, Advanced Youth Coach, 4v4, and many more. In Keeping up with current soccer coaching techniques I attend the United Soccer Coaches Convention. I am also currently an Assistant / JV Coach for the Greenfield Central High School’s Women’s Soccer program. All three of my kids played soccer at GCHS with all three being on sectional championship teams. Currently I am a Referee and hold the USSF Grade 8 Certification for the last 5 years. I coordinated the building of the Mindy Dunn shelter at Brandywine Park and also helped with the pouring of the concrete slab. Also, I coordinated the building of the Press box at GCHS soccer complex and also worked on getting and installing the back stop nets on the main field at GCHS. Served as Vice President for USF Real from 2014 to 2015. Also, I was the social media director for USF Real from 2015 to 2019. Currently on the Social Media team with Impact SC and GASC. In 2011 Neal Singco and I started the 5k Run walk at Brandywine Park. Local high schools have held races at our course over the last 8 years with 2 time the High School County races being here. The course is also the host for GCHS Cougar Palooza 5k event every year. Currently the event is held during the summer with the Hancock County D.A.R.E. program with the Hancock County Sheriff and Greenfield Police Department’s. I was the Greenfield Central High School’s announcer from 2015 to 2018. I announced for 3 IHSAA Sectionals, both men and women’s teams. In the summer of 2018 myself and a few others started the Passport to Hancock County 5k run walk series. This was a collaboration of 14 events throughout Hancock County to help promote each other’s events and to promote good health. I had the honor of coaching with Rob Thomas in Striker Academy and we also applied together to Coach the GCHS Boys in 2015. Rob was a long time coach for the Boys Academy and passed away from cancer on March 15, 2018. Finally I am blessed to have a wife – Shari that understands my passion for our beautiful game.
