Expectations and Code of Conduct


 Players Expectations - 
  • Players will come prepared for practice and games with all proper attire and equipment
  • Players will be expected to give full attention during training sessions and games
  • Players are expected to always work hard to help improve soccer skills and understanding of the game.
  • Players should always be courteous of other players and teammates
  • It is expected that all players exemplify and demonstrate good sportsmanship at all times
  • Players are expected to be respectful of their coaches, officials and opponents
Players Code of Conduct -

I pledge to accept responsibility for my actions by following this players code of conduct:

  •  I will play soccer because I want to, not because others want me to.
  • I will remember that soccer is an opportunity to learn and have fun.
  • I will encourage good sportsmanship from fellow players, coaches, officials, and parents at all times.
  • I will remember that winning isn’t everything, that having fun, playing fair, improving my skills, making friends and giving my best efforts are the most important aspects of youth soccer.
  • I deserve to play in an environment that is free of drugs, tobacco, and alcohol; and expect everyone to refrain from their use at all soccer practices and games.
  •  I will do the best I can each day, remembering that all players have talents and weaknesses, the same as I do.
  •  I will treat my coaches, other players and coaches, officials, and fans with respect at all times.
  •  I will follow coaching direction and will not be disruptive during practice or games.
  •  If I have a problem  with something, I will discuss it with my coach at the earliest opportunity, rather then let it grow into a bigger problem later on.
  •  I will be on time for practices and games and will notify my coach if I cannot attend. I will make every effort to attend all practices and games.
  •  I will concentrate on playing soccer by always giving my best effort, both in practice and in games
  •  I will be modest and respectful when I win, and gracious when I lose.
  •  I will play be the rules at all times, and if I don’t understand the rules, I will attempt to learn them so I can become a better player.
  • I will conduct myself with honor and dignity and treat other players as I would like to be treated. I know that at all times, I represent Greenfield Area Soccer Club, My Team, and my Town. 
Spectators Expectations - 
  • Parents are expected to get players to practice and games on time, as well as pickup players timely
  • All parents are expected to carry proper sideline behavior
  • Parents should not yell instructions from the sideline and allow the coaches to properly instruct
  • If late to practice or a game, parents are expected to notify the coach immediately
  • Parents are required to fulfill financial commitments to the club
  • Parents should be supportive and recognize the value and importance of GASC volunteers, coaching staff, team mangers, referees, and officials
  • Do not scold or criticize your child after a challenging game. Encourage them and be supportive.
  • Be a role model and example to your child by exemplifying good sportsmanship.

Spectators Code of Conduct - 

I pledge to accept responsibility for my actions by following this Spectators Code of Conduct: 

  • I will remember the game is for the kids, not for the adults.
  •  I will do my very best to make soccer fun for my child.
  •  I will not be a sideline coach or referee
  •  I will encourage fair play and good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, and officials at every practice, game, or tournament.
  •  I will support coaches and officials who instruct my child in order to encourage a positive and enjoyable experience for all.
  •  I will not sit or stand on the coaches and players sideline during a match, unless invited by the coach.
  •  I will not criticize my child’s teammates, coaches, or referees in the presence of my child or his/her teammates.
  •  I will not use abusive, vulgar, offensive,  or profane language. Language that is considered offensive from a racial, ethnic, religious, or gender perspective is prohibited and will not be tolerated.
  •  I will demand a soccer environment for my child free of drugs, tobacco, and alcohol, and will refrain from their use at all practices and games.
  •  I will remember that as a fan, I represent Greenfield Area Soccer Club, I understand poor behavior during practices, games , or tournaments may result in expulsion from the soccer complex. (I must wait inside or next to my car in the parking area for my son or daughter). If this happens repeatedly, it will result in expulsion from the club.
  •  I understand that cursing, vulgar, profane, sexual, abusive, demeaning, or intimidating language in the presence of children, Board Members, Coaches, fans, referees, or any participating person is prohibited and will not be tolerated. The offender will be ejected from the GASC soccer complex
  •  I understand that fighting or physical violence will result in the automatic expulsion from the GASC complex.
  •  I understand that sexual harassment is prohibited and will not be tolerated. This includes, but not limited to abusive, violent or sexual contact with any child, coach, parent, fan, or any official. It will result in immediate expulsion from the GASC soccer complex.
  •  I understand that any incident involving a GASC parent, step parent, legal guardian for inappropriate behavior will include a  written warning and review of the Parents Code of Conduct. A second incident of ejection will result in suspension from the GASC soccer Complex
  •  I understand that any incident involving a GASC parent, step parent, legal guardian, who is ejected from the GASC soccer complex must have the incident documented by the coach, referee, or other official(s) within 48 hours of the incident. The documentation will be submitted to the GASC Executive Board for review and action. The GASC Board of Directors will review the status of any parent, step parent, or legal guardian who is ejected from the GASC complex.
