Recreation Soccer Leagues |
|
Greenfield
Soccer Club is a multi-level
recreational league serving Greenfield
and the surrounding area. Our Recreation
League teaches children the fun and
fundamentals of soccer. |
|
|
|
It provides
competition in leagues for children 2 ½ to 13 years of age. Coed and girls
leagues are open at varying age levels. |
|
The
Recreation League plays for 7 weeks in
fall and spring and has over 500
participants. Games are played on Friday
nights and Saturday mornings with
practices held on weekday evenings. The
Pele league, 2 ½ - 3 year olds, does not
hold regular evening practice times but
integrates skill building drills into
its game times. |
|
The club
also offers an indoor season in January
and February. The U7 league plays
indoor soccer at the Memorial Building
on North St. and the U8 to U11 league
plays futsal at the Greenfield Boys and
Girls Club. |
|
Adult soccer
league is offered in fall and summer for
those 18 and over. Over 100 participants
play in June and July and then again in
October and November. The fall season is
closed out by the annual Thanksgiving
Day “Gobbler Game.” Come out and join
the fun. |

T.O.P.S is
our Outreach Program for soccer. Its
emphasis is on training, development,
and meaningful participation rather than
competition. Our goal is to enable young
athletes with disabilities to develop
their physical fitness, technical
skills, courage, and self-esteem through
the joy of playing soccer. T.O.P.S. is
available to children ages 3-13 with or
without disabilities in our peer to peer
program. Participation in this league is
increasing as word gets out about this
wonderful program. Another of our goals
is to give these children’s parents the
opportunity to watch their kids
participate in this fun and challenging
sport. Volunteers, especially ones with
experience in sign language,are greatly
welcomed. |
|
The Rec league is proudly
run by an all volunteer group, ranging
from the coaches, to the commissioners,
to the club’s board members. Volunteers
are always welcome and training for
coaches is available. Please, be
involved for the kids! Contact Bobbi
Stone at 326-3209 for information on our
programs. |
